Car rental on Apia, Samoa

Wanting to rent a car for the day while on Apia, Samoa. Is that available? Will be there Oct 22, 2015.

I am sure a rental will be available but in the past we have just negotiated a rate and hired a taxi for the day so the driver can look after our stuff without worry.

If you are staying in a hotel, arrange it through them. It is cheaper to rent a car than have a taxi drive you around (or, it was for me in April). We stayed at the Insel Somethingorother. Can't remember exactly. It wasn't a problem for them to find a car on short notice. Great way to see Upolu-you can easily get around the whole island Ina day. We broke it up into two, coming back to Apia at the end of each.

You're going to love Samoa! To Sua is beautiful. If you have time, try to get to Sopoaga Waterfall viewpoint which is really pretty. Also, we loved the Robert Louis Stevenson museum and short hike up to Mount Vaea. I'm not sure if you'll be able to fit it in with just a day on shore but worth a look if you have some time.

Oh, and if you like Indian food, Tifaimoana a few minutes from central Apia is dee-licious.

We used Blue Pacific when we were in Apia – they were really good. On Savai'i we also rented a car from the Jet Over hotel. Both were very reliable and reasonably priced. For more information about what to see and do check out our Samoa destination guide.
