Entry permit?

I hold an Eu-member country passport.
Do I need a special entry permit for American Samoa?
Thankful for knowledge on this.

It depends on the EU country that issued your passport. If you are Swedish (as your profile may suggest), you wouldn't need an entry permit for American Samoa. Take a look at this page on the web of the US Department of Interior for more info and details (scroll down to Travel Requirements).

EU is not the point, as Switzerland is on the list and Poland is not, for example. Its Western Europe and they never updated that list of visa-free countries, unlike the general US visa waiver program. So a Hungarian, for example, can travel visa free to the mainland US and Hawaii, but not to American Samoa, However #1 is right, with a Swedish passport you can.

I have, of course, checked the list and Sweden is for sure one of the listed countries.
Just to be even more sure I have put this question to the relevant authorities
in American Samoa, and the say that I DO NEED the permit.
I have applied for the permit at the Attorney General´s office, but -
they do not answer since two months.

Having booked the flight and accomodation, it´s getting late...
My question here:
Has anybody on this forum made the trip to American Samoa?
If so.
With or without an entry permit?

I've been to AmSam on an Irish passport and had no trouble whatsoever. The idea I have is that all the "original" EU countries (Western Europe) can enter without any special permission. I wonder where you got the permit information from.

what I would suggest is calling the contact of whatever way you're using to get into PPG. If by ship from Samoa, call the ship company, if by plane from APW, call the airline, if by plane from Hawaii, call the airline.
