Visa/ESTA confusion

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / American Samoa

Hi everyone,

I'm rather confused about entry requirements for American Samoa. I hold a passport from a 'visa waiver' country. So if I'm traveling to American Samoa (to/from independent Samoa) do I

1) require nothing to enter
2) have to obtain the regular ESTA for the US before going to American Samoa
3) need some sort of American Samoa-specific ESTA?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

OK, so I'm on the list which means I'll just take my passport and a return ticket, no ESTA required?

Right. Myself, I have a German passport, can go to American Samoa from Apia, never do any ESTA. However, I would need to in order to go further on to Hawaii, where I would enter on an international flight then, with full immigration and agriculture checks, not a domestic flight. American Samoa is not incorporated into the US, thus its international travel.

Great, thanks!
