4 weeks in cook islandsCountry forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Cook Islands
HI! I am planning on taking my family to cook islands for christmas 2010 for 4 weeks. Has anyone got any recommendations for accomodation either villa or house, preferably 4 bedroom ++, swimming pool and beach front. Any information on itinerary ideas would be really appreciated. Thanks - happy travelling to all!!! Susan
Hi Susan, There are several companies in Rarotonga that rent private homes, try John Walter's www.ck and look under private homes or Rarononga Realty or Shenikah (sp) Homes for listings. Good luck and have a great trip. Papa Mike | 1

thanks Papa Mike and Sabine, Will jump onto these sites and have a look. Sabine, we are probably looking at the quite great snorkelling side, could you please advise on which areas these would be. Thanks Susan | 3
Majority of the island is great for snorkelling but my favourite part is Muri lagoon... enjoy your trip! | 4

Hi Susan, The best areas for snorkelling around Rarotonga are where the marine reserves are located. The most popular and widely known is the Tikioki marine reserve situated in the SE corner of the island. A number of private rentals around Muri, Tikioki and Titikaveka - some within walking distance to the mr, otherwise the bus will only take 5 minutes from any of these villages. Another excellent marine reserve is the Aroa mr at the Rarotongan Resort. Private rentals closest to Aroa, at Kavera, and southern end of Arorangi village. Vaimaanga is a very attractive, quieter area of Rarotonga. Very good snorkelling and swimming in this village, and numerous private rentals, several with pools. | 6
Look for a rental in Muri, or Titikaveka. These are where the fish are, and are also close to restaurants. | 7
