Accommodation at Muri BeachCountry forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Cook Islands
We are off to Rarotonga in September and have been searching for suitable accommodation at Muri beach.
Try booking at Shell & Craft Cottages, they have two cottages directly between Muri Beach Club Resort & Pacific Resort. Both are studios, one has a set of twin beds up in the loft. Both are fully self contained, but no pool. Snorkeling equipment and kayak use included in rental. Short walk to the lagoon, lots of restaurants within walking distance. Fruits of Rarotonga is the acknowledged snorkeling spot, but plenty of snorkeling opportunities in Muri Lagoon area. Restaurants, I would include Boat Shed & Trader Jacks for lunch. Tamarind House, Vaima & Waterline Beach Bar & Cafe for dinner. Papa Mike | 1
My wife and I stayed at Muri lagoon in December for three weeks at the Avana Waterfront Apartments. We had a one room apartment for about $125NZ per night. It was really nice and clean, had a small pool and Tony the caretaker was really helpful. It is located at the north entrance to Muri lagoon and has a jetty but no beach. The Sailing Club beach was about a fifteen minute walk. The snorkelling in the lagoon is good, although Fruits of Rarotonga had more coral outcrops. The small islands off the Sailing Club are walkable, water up to the waist at most. Reef tours leave from this beach too.Enjoy your time in paradise. | 2
