accommodation close to the airport

Hi

We arrive in Rarotonga at 00.20am and then fly out to Aitutaki at 8.00am, so are looking for a cheap hotel close to the airport to grab a few hours kip in.

Has anyone got any recommendations?

Also keen to hear any ideas on what to do in Aitutaki if anyone has some great tips to share!

The Aquarius hotel is directly opposite the airport and is the one usually recommended for people in your situation. Reasonably priced. It also has a restaurant which has a pleasant view over the water.

Yep, Aquarius is the place. It's small hotel with large rooms (and an airconditioned dorm) all facing the lagoon, a small pool, superb sunsets and a fine kitchen. It's a two minute walk form the airport. http://www.aquariusrarotonga.com/
