We are due to fly Air New Zealand from London to LAX then onto Rarotonga with Air New Zealand but have been told they are no longer flying from LAX to Raro does anyone know if this is now a codeshare and who with and does it now require a change of terminal? thanks
Air New Zealand flies to Rarotonga from LAX (on Sundays). They no longer fly to Papeete, Tahiti (codeshare with Air Tahiti Nui). | 1
lowmax---where---and how--- do these rumors originate???!!! | 2
Well Raro....this rumour has something to do with another posting on the tahiti and french polynesia section as we used to stop at papeete on our LAX - Raro flight so i assume this means we can no longer combine Tahiti with Rarotonga??! | 3
Ah, that explains it. Yes, Air NZ no longer flies from PPT to RAR, but they do serve both destinations separately. The flight goes LAX/RAR/AKL. I think they codeshare with Air Tahiti Nui on the LAX/PPT route. | 4
Yes, exactly, that is the problem. The South Pacific is becoming a region for one-country-visits only. It has become very difficult to combine a visit to Rarotonga with visits to any other islands. Air New Zealand will soon also make it impossible to fly Rarotonga - Fiji. (This is not a rumour; it is from their homepage.) | 5
Yes, the flight to/from Fiji ends after October. | 6
Flying Rarotonga - Papeete will still be possible, though, using Air Tahiti twice a week. Going to islands west of Rarotonga seems completely impossible. | 7
#7--true, no flights west from RAR to other islands. AND, it will be a separate ticket, for an extra charge, for RAR/PPT. | 8
