Air NZ routes?

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Cook Islands

I was just doing some research on the Air NZ site and on their route map, they show a direct flight between Los Angeles and Rarotonga, but there was no way to click on the route or anything to get more information about it. I had though the only way from LA to Raro was though Tahiti. Anyone have any information about this?

Dan

Non-stops in both directions start April 4 or so. There are either one or two flights a week, depending on the month.

Beginning April 2nd ANZ won't stop in Tahiti anymore but go directly from LAX to Rarotonga. I believe that most of the time they will only fly there once a week from LAX.

Yes, Laszlo and I had the same problem for most of last week, posting while the other one was!

Non-stop flights LAX/RAR/LAX--
It's actually twice a week for most of April, then once a week for May and June, then twice a week in July, then once a week for Aug and Sept. give or take a few days at the beginning or end of each month.

They'll see how the loads are, and take it from there.

Most of the new flights from RAR to LAX are almost full for the first several weeks, they just announced.

I understand that Air Tahiti is going to do some kind of deal with Air Raro for the Avarua/Papeete route. I live in Hawaii and ANZ is effectively cutting us off from Raro. My last trip was via Hawaiian to Papeete, then ANZ to Raro. Was able to use Hawaiian Miles and United (Star Alliance) miles for the trip. ANZ won't be flying the Honolulu/LAX, so that makes it difficult to get to Raro. It's too far to swim....
