Aitutaki upcoming specials and a favour to ask of Papa Mike

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Cook Islands

Hi all,

For those coming from NZ and Australia, Island Hopper is going to have a special coming out soon (package airfare and accom). Can't give any specific details yet but keep your eyes peeled. I will post again as soon as I get the word. It will be for travel in the next few months and there will hopefully be some really good discounts!

Papa Mike, got the new Cook Islands Handbook finally! Great job and thanks for the nice write up! Fred and I have entered that Best Job in the World contest so we might be in Australia in July (she crosses all of her fingers and toes). If you get a chance, have a look at our video and rate us. (Shameless self promotion - you know how it is, LOL).

This is us:

Commercial postings aren't allowed here. I'm sure every travel agency has "specials" that include package airfare and accomodations.

Sorry, I was just trying to be helpful. I'm not a travel agent nor do I work for Jetsave in any capacity. I live on Aitutaki and heard about this deal. Since it is so expensive to get here and stay here, I thought folks might want to hear about a good deal. Won't do it again. Apologies!

Hi Kristene, good to hear from you. I shall try and skirt the "commercial postings" requirements, but feel compelled to reply to my friend Silvanocat's post. Kristene is a beacon of knowledge on Aitutaki, takes time to answer readers posts and encourage travel to the island. There is no mention of the lodging, nor a blatent attempt of self promotion in any of her posts. As a witer I have a product to sell, but my real goal is helping people travel, the monetary return is miniscule. Let's not split hairs here.

I shall visit your best job in the world submittal when I get a decent internet connection, (not an endorsement of Telecom Cook Islands, I might add.)

Thanks Papa Mike! I was just trying to pass on some information I learned from a recent industry meeting. We won't even be participating in the special since we're fully booked for the time it's effective, anyway. In any case, I certainly didn't mean to break any rules.

FYI, Spider Cafe has closed, permanently. (The cafe, not the internet cafe). And the telecom is just as bad as it's ever been. LOL.

But the weather has been gorgeous! Lots of sun and just enough rain to keep the tanks full. And two nights ago I caught a 25kg wahoo! Yummy.

If you make it back to Aitutaki before October, please drop in and say hi.

Cheers,
Kristene
