Bringing gifts/supplies to Cook Islands outer islands?Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Cook Islands
I'm leaving for the Cook Islands in a week (yay!) and I'll go to Mauke, Atiu, Mangaia and Atutaki.
Besides money, easy to carry, we always take lots and lots of pens/pencils, also very easy to carry. | 1
Coloring books and crayons are good for the kids. Old magazines are appreciated by the adults (English lannguage preffered) Something special grown or made in Sweden would be informative and interesting. Enjoy the outer islands, a very special place and experience. Papa Mike | 2
We take fishing gear, any kind of lollies for the kids, DVDs, etc. We also pack our stuff in coolers and leave them behind when we depart. Last time we left one on Atiu and on with the school on Mitiaro. We also pack filleting & kitchen knives, leatherman tools, fins, mask & snorkels and leave them behind. And one time we left our sneakers with a family we met on Mangaia. They love any kind of footwear that fits. They have really wide feet because they go barefoot so much. Edited by: H2ooh | 3
