G'day

Cook Islands Tourism Corporation are looking for a new "Tourism Development Manager".

Anybody got any thoughts on this company?

Well, I know CI tourism itself quite well as a subject. It's the govt tourist bureau. A lot depends on who is running things, e.g. is it a nepotism appt. or an actual real-life hard-working business person.

I think the new guy, John something? sounds pretty good. You have a good product to promote/sell/market, a lot of support from both the govt and private business, so I think it could be a good job to aim for. However, politics can always creep into any CI job situtation, so nothing is perfect.

ok, thanks. I'm awaiting the Tonga outcome (Wednesday), and then I'll look at this one.

Why don't you go for it, Raro? being a retired gentleman now....;-)

Too much corruption, politics and racism for me.

hehe.

What is like to live in?

I only have experience in Tonga. I've had a friend live in Samoa for 5 years, but I don't know the Cooks.

(apart from dealing with that idiot Tata Balcombe).

Well, it's like every other place, good people and bad people. You might as well try it if the opportunity presents itself.
