Distance Titikaveka and Muri Beaches

Hi,

we are heading to the Cook Islands soon and the first place we will be staying at is Sea Change Villas on Titikaveka Beach.

We'd also like to hang out on Muri Beach for a day or so to gaze out on to the little Motus.

Can anyone tell me how far Muri Beach is from Sea Change? Can we walk? Catch the bus?

The distance from your accommodation to the centre of Muri beach is approx 4.5 kms. You could walk there, depending on the time of day and your energy levels. If the tide is low, the beachfront is beautiful all the way.

The anticlockwise bus will take about 7 minutes to get there. There is a bus-stop outside Salt-water cafe in Turoa (1 minute walk west of Sea-Change). Either take the track that goes to the Sailing Club in Muri, or the short road that leads into the Ngatangiia Sports-centre in Muri.

Depending on the tide, you can wade across to Koromiri motu, which is the popular islet that the lagoon cruises visit. It is directly in front of Muri Beach-club hotel (next to the sports-ground).

I can now report back that we got ourselves two wheeles to scoot around the island and it takes 5-7min from the South to Muri, depending on the traffic LOL :)
