Eating in Rarotonga

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Cook Islands

Kiaora,

It's been a while since I was in the Cooks, so I'm after some advice...
Where's the best places to go for fresh vegies, meat, seafood these days? (For cooking ourselves.)
And if we go the lash and go out for dinner, where's the best restaurant?
And then if it had to include an island show, which is the best dinner & show?

Thanks e hoa ma

Kia Orana,
Here is some advice...(lived her for a few years now)
For fresh veggies and fruit- the market especially on Saturday, but during the week you can still get some good local produce at good prices. Otherwise Wigmores in Titikaveka.
Meat - Primefoods in town is THE place for quality meat.
Seafood - Ocean fresh in Panama but fish has been in very short supply lately.

A nice dinner - the Little Polynesian or Windjammer (but have not been thier since new owners took over).

Island show - Te Vara Nui in Muri is amazing (but expensive at $90 for show and dinner). Otherwise go to Edgewater for a drink and watch the show.

Meitaki!
