Family trip to Rarotonga in April

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Cook Islands

We are considering a trip to the Cook Islands but are concerned with the weather. We would travel (From California) the first week of April. So, my first question is: What is the actual rain like at this time of year? I know it's the tail end of rainy season, but does that mean a constant rain or a quick rain shower in the afternoon followed by sun?

Next question is: We are going with our 2 teenage girls and would stay on Rarotonga. Where is the best resort to stay and are there enough activities to break up the days? We're happy to relax on the beach, but would want some diversions as well.

Thank you.

If you haven't done so, you might also post these questions to the TripAdvisor forum on the Cook Islands

You will find reviews of all the hotels and activities there.
Given the world wide weather patterns all bets are off as to predicting the weather.
