family week in Aitutaki

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Cook Islands

Four adults, four children (9, 7, 6, 5)
One week on the heavenly Aitutaki.First time for the kids, but the adults have been 10 years ago.
We don't want to do too much, but if anyone has any thoughs of of things to do with the children would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks.

How about taking the grandparents?

With enough sunscreen the kids will last for hours at the beach with grandma & granpa lazing in the shade. The kids will also love a culture night or two... Samades usually has one during the week. Take a cheap video camera for them to use and they'll entertain each other with home movies of the day's adventures after dinner.

And... there's always fiddler crab races! and hidden treasure hunts on the beach.

The best time to spend with your family. Grand parents can enjoy their old age privacy in the shades and children ll enjoy at the beach the main thing about this place is you can spend more time on in the waters as they are fresh and feel good. Plan a good family games and time goes exiting with fresh and tasty sea food.

Also... take the kids up to the Marine Reserve tanks on the north end of the island. They'll love the turtles and giant clams there.
