Flight from Rarotonga to other placesCountry forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Cook Islands
Hi, | ||
With the exception of the Tahita/Raro flight you'll have to go through NZ or Aus to connect to other SP destinations. If you plan to begin/exit your trip through the US you could make the Cooks your first/last destination and connect to LAX. The fact that the Cook Islands suffers from easy access from the more popular SP destinations is both good and bad. Bad when you are inconvenienced in getting there. Good because after you get there you'll find more unspoiled areas to enjoy. | 1
The only other alternative that I know is to take a charter flight of Air Rarotonga to Samoa or Tonga or Niue but I don't have any idea about fares. More info here | 2
In the last 10 years I have never seen or only heard of an Air R.arotonga flight landing in S.amoa. This would be news! So better regard the charter as no option unless you are a group of 10 people and willing to pay a multiple of what a flight through A.uckland would cost you.The lowest regular fare from R.arotonga to A.pia via A.uckland is about 500 NZ Dollar (410 US Dollar) one way now. And there are always specials with even lower rates. I doubt that charter can compete with that ;-) | 3
