how to get there from europe?Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Cook Islands
So, I was checking Paris-Rarotonga, the cheapest ticket in march is 1600e. Is there any cheaper option, how is it possible to get there? Thank you
Flights to Rarotonga are quite limited. Air New Zealand flies from Auckland and Los Angeles. Pacific Blue Flies from Australia and Air Rarotonga flies from Tahiti. ANZ is about 700 euros from Los Angeles to Rarotonga roundtrip on Internet specials, Paris to Los Angeles is around 500 euros roundtrip. Does that work for you? Papa Mike | 1
One of the problems with getting anywhere in the SP is that the flights are limited. The ANZ flight from LAX - RAR only goes out on Sundays and returns only on Saturdays, otherwise you have to route through Auckland which will make it more expensive. The Air Rarotonga flights only operate on Tuesdays and cost around 425 euros. You could try to find out if Air France or Air Tahiti Nui do any special fares to Papeete from Paris. I would imagine this is a popular route for French people and maybe the airlines do specials from time to time. | 2
I can chime in about the weather. March will be hot and humid. It's still technically summer so expect some rain but there won't be nearly as much as Dec/Jan. The water will be lovely and that's where you'll spend most of your time. Cheers, | 3
