Rarotonga absolute beachside - Tiana's or Bella's?

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Cook Islands

Hello.

A friend and I are going to Rarotonga the 29th of November for six days. We'd like to stay in a hut right on the beach and are considering either Tiana's Villa Studios or Bella's Beach Bungalows. We are looking for: swimmable beach, good snorkeling nearby, clean, two single beds, restaurants or a bit of nightlife nearby (but not too close to be noisy), nice view. Bella's seems to have some good reviews, but my concerns are that they are a bit too quiet and could be windy. Tiana's looks decent, but I can't seem to find many reviews.

Does anyone have experience at either place? Or, another recommendation?

Thanks!

Bella Beach sits directly opposite 7th Day Adventist Church HQ and schools, you wont find night life as such in this village. Pawpaw Patch is 1.5kms away though, regular live entertainment and a pub nite, with string band at their Sunday BBQ. Tiana's is in reasonbly close proximity to the heart of Muri where there are lots licenced cafes. Best snorkelling in this area is around the motu. Or you can walk the beachfront around to Tikioki (Titikaveka locality). Avarua really is the centre of real nite-life in Raro due to its commercial angle, and policing of drink-drivers and revellers. Late November, any sea breeze will be a positive factor. Have you looked at Vara's self-catering units in Muri?

Thank you, turou!

Bella's is on one of the 2 best swimming beaches on Rarotonga. not crowded either. drawback is it is close to the road w/ no sound barrier.
there are 2 tiana/s. u want to stay in the 1 BR duplex NOT the studio. smack dab on the beach. great sunrises. i have stayed there. Muri lagoon. tides make it a walk to get out to swimming portion of lagoon. rainy/breezy side of island. being on the breezy side is a good thing when it is super hot.
