rarotonga accomodation (vara's or aremango)

hi i am travelling to rarotonga in may & i am just wondering if anyone knows where it is better to stay., my 2 options are both in muri & the 1st is a single room in the aremango guesthouse & the 2nd would be a studio room in vara's guesthouse. i am wondering if anyone has stayed in either of these places & what the accomodation is like & what staff are also like & possibility of meeting other people. I will be staying for 7 nights thanks

Ive stayed at Vara's Beachhouse for 2 weeks and its a wonderfull place at a wonderfull beach. Great staff and loads of people to meet ! Btw I stayed a the beachaccomodation (Vara's has more accomodations, uphill etc)

Vara's can get very noisy, depends on the crowd. And the studios get the brunt of it, as they are in the middle of things.

It's always pretty quiet at Aremango. It's not right on the beach, but only 100m or so down the side road to the beach. It's a lot smaller than Vara's, but the crowd is also not mainly late-teens/early 20's, as can happen at Vara's.
