Rarotonga/Cooks travel book

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Cook Islands

I'm headed to Rarotonga in the Cook Islands in February to do volunteer work for 3 weeks. What are your recommendations for the best up-to-date travel book? LP or Moon or ??
I'd like to have the reference for things to do, restaurants, and scuba (I need to do a refresher course) on Rarotonga, accomodations and lagoon experiences on Aitutaki, and restaurants on both islands. Info on other outer islands that I could get to/from in a weekend would be cool too.
And of course, any of your personal recommendations are totally appreciated.
Thanks for your insights!

Most up-to-date....

probably Papa Mike's or LP

Both the LP and Moon guidebooks were recently updated. Both are excellent, in my opinion.

For Scuba diving, Pacific Divers, Cook Island Divers, and a couple of others are all good. Check out the main websites www.ck and www.cook-islands.com for e-mail addresses and their websites, and some other quick info if you haven't yet bought one of the two guidebooks you mentioned.
