Reasonably priced accommodation in Raro for a couple.Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Cook Islands
Does anyone have any suggestions for reasonably priced accommodation in Raro in late September. A friend is going there to officiate at the South Pacific Games. He could have free (very basic ) accommodation, but as his wife is going, they would like something nicer.
Take a look at the accomodation listings on www.ck (it's spelled corrrectly, just www.ck) | 1
Lots of places for under AUD240, (which is a bit more than NZ$240). Check out rental houses via www.ck Also, check out my old place, Shangri-La Beach Cottages, it is now called Muri Resort, or Muri Beach Resort, I think. If they can afford Sokala Villas, definitely stay there. Not sure what the lowest rate is, though. | 2
Thanks, guys. | 3 | |
I'd also recommend Vara;s beach House, located on muri's beach... stayed there a few weeks ago in march and really enjoyed it. They have all levels of accommodation - dorms, studios, more private ensite beach studios, etc. I stayed in a studio with kitchen and bathroom ensuite. They also organize a lot of activities, etc. when I stayed, the demographic seemed like 35 and under, so fyi, depending on your friend's age, and what they're looking for. At the same time, there were a few muuuch older (60+) folks, and it seemed that in a private studio, could get the escape needed. website: http://www.varas.co.ck/ | 4
My friends are definitely older than 35, and not really looking for lots fo activities, due to involvement in the South Pacific Games. I think Vara's might not suit them, being too busy. | 5
I stayed at the Club Raro back in 2006: It's close to the town of avarua. Friendly and helpful staff. Only thing missing is a beach at this resort. | 6
Are renga motel in the Arorangi area has self contained apartments for NZ$80/night. They're nothing special but cheap and it's easy to get everywhere from here. | 7
