"Too Windy" or "Nice Breeze" in November/December?

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Cook Islands

Can you please tell me what the wind is generally like in November/December in the vicinities of Titikaveka and Muri Beach? I'm trying to decide between the two for my accommodation choice. I've heard that Titikaveka can be a bit windier, but it also has one of the best beaches (for swimming and snorkeling). On the other hand, I also understand that in those months, we might actually welcome a bit of wind or a nice breeze. We'd prefer not to be blown around too much when kayaking or lying on the beach. I realize that a nice cyclone could blow in :), but I'm just looking for something general to help me choose. It would also be helpful to know if there were certain times of the day when it is better or worse.

Thanks!

(ps. I did a search on the forum, but didn't see any posts that would help me answer this question.)

During the summer months, a breeze is most welcome. The SE trade winds do blow across Muri - Tikioki - Titikaveka. The breeze was fairly brisk at times last Nov/Dec due to the La Nina weather pattern that can affect the Sth Pacific. Since I dont stay around that side of the island I cant comment about the strength of the breeze in relation to certain times of the day. If it is too windy, it's easy enough to find shelter beaches in other areas though.
