VISA required for U.S travelers? Aitutaki flight Schedule....Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Cook Islands
Hey everyone! im in the beginning stages of the trip planning, Ive been reserching online about a travel Visa to the cooks, Ive seen 'yes you need one' and 'no you dont' for US citizens, can anyone clear that up? and if I do need one, whereabouts do I go to obtain that? THANKS! Also, Im coming to find out that flights in and out of Aitutaki are few and far between! Does anyone know the flight schedule to Aitutaki from Rarotonga? is it daily, twice a week? not sure and it would be great to plan around that! Hope you all can help! Thanks again.
U.S. passport holders do not need a visa to visit the Cook Islands. Several flights a day from Rarotonga to Aitutaki and vv. From www.ck (except they had the return flights mislabled): Aitutaki to Raro: Book your flights here: http://www.airraro.com/ | 1
Depending on the season, Air Raro offers additional services between Raro and Aitutaki. At present there are return RAR-AIT flights departing Raro at 1pm, and also 6pm (monday to Saturday). The 6pm has been a regular service for some years now, and arrives back to Raro around 8pm. There are return flights between Atiu and Aitutaki as well, now up to 3 times mid week I understand. | 2

Sorry to tell you this, but every visitor to the Cook Islands needs a tourist visa, including Americans. You get it upon arrival at the airport on Rarotonga, it is good for 31 days, and it is free. It can be extended beyond 31 days but you must apply and pay for the extension at the immigration office in town. I am an American but live on Raro. You do need a visa. Enjoy the Cooks. | 4
