Hello there; We are going to Raro for a wedding next week and we have a couple of questions. Thanks for your help
HI roscare, you may now use your home license in the Cook Islands to ride a scooter if you have a bike certification on your home license. I would make arrangements in advance to have a taxi available to take you back to your accommodation after the reception. Temps in July are usually in the mid to upper 20s. It can get into the high teens at night. A light jacket or wind breaker would be advised. You can shop for alcohol in the duty free shop in the Rarotonga airport when you arrive before you go though customs. | 1
Kia Orana roscare, 1) Duty free limit is 2 litres of spirits/wines - much cheaper to purchase in Raro at either of the 2 duty free stores at the arrivals terminal. 2) Your Australian endorsement for scooter licence is accepted by the scooter hire companies. 3) Prebook with a taxi company for late night ride - most taxis are controlled by a taxi confederation and are painted vivid green. Check again what the fare will be, prior to actual transfer. 4) Weather in July is a real mixed bag - some fine days, some cloud cover, and some showers to heavy rain - like today! Bring a light shower-rain jacket if planning to ride a scooter during your stay. | 2
