Could anyone please help us make a decision.
Muri Beach Resort or Aroa Beachside Inn.Both are similar rates.
We're looking for a nice beachside bungalow, midrange price, ...but good swimming and snorkelling. Both places say they have both but someone said no.
Anyone been to both?
Raro, what's your view?
Leaving in a week's time. Help!!!

Hi Pollies---
Well, I built and used to own what is now called "Muri Beach Resort", so I do know it quite well! It was previously "Shangri-La Beach Cottages", look for some reviews on www.tripadvisor.com .

The new owners have taken my two-story manager's residence---right on the beach---and made a couple of rental apts out of it (they live nearby, but off-site). So, if you can get one of those two (upper or lower I would guess), that is as close to Muri Beach as you can get. The beach is maybe 15 ft from the door!

The lagoon at Muri beach Resort is much nicer than at Aroa. My old place also has a huge swimming pool, Aroa has none from what I remember. Also, at Muri you can walk to five or six restaurants, and the best snorkeling area is only 100m away, a couple of minutes' walk to the south. So, to me it's no contest (no, I don't get a commission, too bad!).

Yup, the closer you can get to Muri Beach the better.
