10 days in fiji...

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

Hi

I arrive in Fiji on 3rd April and dont have much time for research as I'm travelling at the mo and getting info is difficult. I have 10 days in Fiji, would like to go to 2 or 3 islands. We are backpackers so would like cheap accomadation but son't really want to stay on a specific backpacker island. We are thinking about doing our PADI diving course there, would it be cheaper than doing in Australia, where is the best place in Fiji to do it? Does anyone have reccommendations for which islands to go to (that wont cost too much to get to), mainly for relaxing on the beaches but also for diving/snorkelling?

Thanks you SO much for any help!

if you dont want the backpacker island thing, then consider savusavu or levuka. god as a base to explore laid back fiji and diving courses are available.
about 2 or 3 islands in 10 days and a course... how about nadi, ovalau (dive course), bobosfarm, leleuvia, back to nadi. just google for those places..

While not the best one for beaches, the main island of Viti Levu is well worth exploring, too - and the cheapest island to do so.
It is easily combined with either Ovalau (eg. Levuka) or Vanua Levu (eg. Savusavu), being connected to both by cheap public ferries.

I second Levuka and Caqalai/or Leleuvia Island - 10 days AND Open Water Course AND travelling time is too much for 3 Islands!
