| doublekris09:10 UTC15 Dec 2007 | Hey -
We come to Fiji (Nadi) in July/August 2008 for 13 days for the first time - we are with 8 years old boy - and I think we want to split this stay into 2 different places. Could you please recommend how would you make it ?
Thanks!

We stayed at the Shangri La on the Coral Coast for 5 nights which was nice, we did enjoy that. However we spent the next 8 on Plantation Island Resort, which we absolutely loved. The islands are the way to go. Plantation island is probably 30 years old but the beachfront bures or garden bures are nice. It is more the location you are paying for, not so much the decor. Good snorkelling daily (free 5 minute boat ride to the left). My husband & son surf so Little Johnny picked them up in the morning and took them out to the reef breaks. There is swimming pools, tennis courts, kids club, putt putt etc. Very kid orientated. However you have to expect in Fiji that everything happens in Fiji time, which is part of the charm. Nothing happens quickly. If you taken time to get to know the Fijians they are so friendly, and they love kids. Weather in July was warm/hot during the day, an odd overcast day, I think we had one or two light showers at night. But basically fine. At night you might need a light cardigan/jacket. You will love Fiji, just remember out on the islands the price you are paying for accommodation is for the location - don't expect the sheraton. I did stay in November at the Amunuca Island resort on Tokoriki Island which we also loved, brand new and more modern. Fantasic infinity pool (few tiles missing - no big deal), great food. However for an 8 year old probably more to do at Plantation Island. Hope this helps.
