2weeks in Fiji on a budget

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

Hello,

My boyfriend and I are coming to the end of our travels, we've been 9 months on the road now and are heading to Fiji in just over a week, and have only just started to think about it!

We're hoping to spend two weeks there and as generally just want to chill out for a couple weeks and relax before we have to head back to the UK. We're thinking of maybe going to two places and want to chill on the beach, maybe a bit of snorkelling, somewhere reasonably quiet (just not a party place really) but where we can still have a couple beers at night. There's not much money left so it'll be on a budget.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Would be much appreciated!

Thanks

2 hours bus ride from Nadi Airport is Danny's...they can provide a private cabin on the beach

all meals are provided (breakfast, lunch and dinner) at a cost of 33.25GBP per night per person.

you have to bring your own snorkeling gear but the snorkeling is great crystal clear water and lots of fish. Try and stay a few days with a weekend included so you can go with the village team to a rugby match. It is rugby season in Fiji right now and it is great to travel with the team to a match.

Tubakula, east of Sigatoka would be a good place for you.

No parties, great, extensive grounds, good day-trip possiblilities nearby (doable on your own) and some of Fiji's lowest rates.

The catch? Like along much of the misleadingly named Coral Coast, the snorkelling is crap.

The Coral coast is good for budget and the snorkling is crap if you dont know where to go.

Check out my previous posts on affordable activities on the coral coast.

Great snorkling on the MPA which is not far from Tubakula

Even better value in my opinion is the Beachouse, alittle further up just past the Warwick but they have dorms if you want super budget and the place is so much nicer than Tubakula. However we often go back to Tubakula for the cheap restaurant. Great value and the bungalows are awesome for families who need 2 bedrooms.
Have fun :-)

Thanks for all the ideas, they all look good and within budget.

I'll check out your other posts on affordable activities too.

The Uprising in Pacific Harbour is a good place to stay too. There are tons of activities running from there and The Pearl just down the road.
