4 days in Fiji

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

Hi--Been traveling for last 7 months and have a four day layover in Fiji (like another recent post here). Plane arrives 7/8 at 12:20 pm which sounds like it might be too late for a boat? Leave 7/12 10:00 pm, also Nadi. I know it is not a lot of time (I usually spend at least a month in a new country). What is best suggestion for low to midrange accommodation and location? Definitely want to do some great snorkeling and perhaps a DSD intro dive (no C card). Other than that some chill time and writing before finally returning stateside. Thanks!!!!

"12:20 pm which sounds like it might be too late for a boat?" - it is too late for the Yasawa Flyer which leaves around 8am

"also Nadi. I know it is not a lot of time ......Definitely want to do some great snorkeling " - you wont do snorkeling in Nadi. There is some on Coral coast (couple hours by road) or an a island

You could have a look at the Volivoli Resort on the main island. It would be possible to catch a bus in the afternoon or arrange for a taxi to take you there. You can snorkel off the beach or check into doing a dive with Ra Divers - would be a great spot to chill for several days. Their website has a list of options for getting there and there are quite a few reviews on tripadvisor. They have a range of accommodation options.

no worries, you can defintiely get an afternoon boat to a number of Mamanuca islands, can can last minute book it as you pass all the travel reps on exiting customs, the arvo boats go about 4 so you've plenty of time. The best taste of Fiji is defintely an island as many will tell you. IF you are young you might try Beachcomber or want a little more fancy pop over to Plantation. None are elcheapo accept the few backpacker places there. You can return from these (or the Yasawas and others) back into Denaru harbour about 6pm on flight days: perfect! Enjoy.
