5 days in Fiji

My 2 friends and I have just booked a spontaneous trip to Fiji for Febuary. We are all 20 years old and want to find some cheap (very cheap!) accommodation ie. Hostel or camping in a good location. Whilst we are there we would like to relax on the beach, go snorkelling, discover the culture, see some rain forests and go to a few nice bars. I love adventure sports ie. kayaking but we are trying to be as cheap as possible. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Rosa.

Hi Rose - for mainland stay have a look at Beachouse www.fijibeachouse.com ... The have room specials for 2 people starting from AU$325 for 5 nights (you may be able to add a 3rd person at an extra charge) or dorms for AU$99 per person for 5 nights ... I have stayed there before & its a nice budget resort... Small pool, decent beach, basic rooms, cheap food & drinks, pool tables, table tennis, friendly live in dogs, communal kitchen if you want to save money and cook your own meals, short bus ride or taxi ride to other resorts (for alternative dining/drinking options) & local attractions... It's about a 3hr bus ride from Nadi airport... Free use of kayaks & off shore snorkelling ... They offer deep sea snorkelling trips, island trips, bush walks, waterfall tours etc at affordable prices ... They also have camping ground (not sure of price) but I believe you need to supply your own tent/camping equipment ... The outter island resorts have the best beaches, however they tend to be expensive (boat transfers alone are very pricey) so I suggest you stay on the mainland if you're looking for a cheap stay... Enjoy your holiday! :)

Btw- you mention 5 days in Fiji (4 nights), but it may be cheaper to book the 5 night special & forfeit the last night
