5 Night Fiji Honeymoon (which island & resort?)

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

Hi there,
We are getting married in Fiji at the Sheraton - Denarau in August and are planning a 5 night Honeymoon after our wedding to unwind and relax. We are pretty excited, but its time to organise the honeymoon :)

I'm keen to head to one of the beautiful islands for these 5 nights and my budget is no more than $800 (Australian $) per night. I was hoping to get an all inclusive (meals& drinks etc for this price, but its not a must).

I really do want something special and memorable, hence the maximum budget I have specified.

A few questions if anyone has any advice:
- Which island would you recommend and how do we get there?
- Will we get bored after a few days? Or are there plenty of activities to do
- Would you recommend sticking to the one island/resort for the full 5 days or is island hoping/ day trips fun?
- Is it worth stocking up on snacks/drinks on the main land if its not an all inclusive resort?
- Whats the best way to get between islands?
- Any links to recommended resort websites would be fantastic :)

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Thanks

A$800 a night wont get you Vomo but I would suggest Matamanoa Island Resort, its one of our favorites in the Mamanuca's.
You could spurge on a helicopter transfer or go by the Catamaran.
A$800 P/N should cover your beach front Bure and your meals and drinks.
Spend all the time on the one island you wont get bored, you are on your honeymoon!!!
Don't bother stocking up, food and drinks are reasonable for an island resort.

I'd suggest a couple resorts in the Yasawa Islands. They fit the bill for all five days, or you can split your time between the two of them. On Nacula Island is the Blue Lagoon Beach Resort amnd nearby on a neighboring island is another top resort. www.BlueLagoon
BeachResort.com.fj and www.Nanuyafiji.com You can access them on the Yasawa Flyer- a high-speed catamaran (Awesomefiji.com)
Alternatively, you could fly from Nadi to Matei, Taveuni and stay at the Taveuni Island Resort. (TaveuniIsland Resort.com.fj)

I would suggest either Nanuya Resort, or maybe a 5 day cruise through the Yasawas with Capt Cook.

Cheers,
Peter
