6 days Fiji

Hi,

we are going to Fiji from 20/1 to 26/1 and would like to stay in 2 places outside of the main island. We would like to stay in good 3 - 4* hotels. Our budget is somewhere around 600 - 800 GBP. We are arriving late in the afternoon on 20th and departing around midnight on 26th.

We don't do diving, but like snorkelling. We want to relax more than anything. No kids around would be ideal.

Thanks for your help.

Pete

Pete,
With only a week, check out the Yasawa Islands, which can be reached by speedy catamaran directly from Nadi's

Denarau marina. The Yasawas have gorgeous white-sand beaches and turquoise water offshore. To pick your
islands, go to Google Earth and preview them as though doing your own helicopter fly-over. I'm partial to Waya,Naviti,
Wayasewa, Nacula and Nanuya Lailai- famous for where the movie "Blue Lagoon" with Brooke Shields was filmed.
For 4-star and 5-star resorts, I'd check out what TripAdvisor has to say about Botaira Beach Resort on Naviti (www.
botaira.com); Nanuya Island Resort (www.nanuyafiji.com); you might also want to check out Kingfisher Lodge on
Tevewa Island. These resorts are mostly quieter places suitable for a romantic tropical escape.

#1 has good suggestions. I suggest also checking the timetable of the ferry as some ofthe islands take most of the day to get to.

Arriving late in the day will probably mean a stay near Nadi unless you can get a flight out to the islands that late in the day - I would suggest Raffles Hotel across from the airport - their deluxe rooms are quite nice. You can get the Yasawa Flyer bus outside Raffles to take you to the ferry (early in the morning). I would look at staying at the Mana Island Resort as your first stop for 2 nights. The beaches there are lovely with some amazing snorkeling. The Resort is popular with families but is so spread out you should have no problem finding space to be by yourself - they offer honeymoon suites that are in their own area. On the 23rd take the Yasawa Flyer on to Waya Island and stay at the Octopus Resort for 3 nights- another place with a great beach and snorkeling. Again, they have some lovely accommodation that is off on its own - there may be a couple of children in attendance but not usually and you can always find a quiet place to relax. On the 26th take the Octopus boat back to the mainland, they will transport you to the airport. Leave your bags with your airline if you can, if not, there is a left luggage room you can use. Take a cab for a look see around the area and find a place to eat - Martinair has a nice selection of restaurants - before heading back to the airport for your flight. Hope this helps!
