A Better Place To Stay In Nadi Is The New Ohana Apartments

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

I needed a place close to Nadi Town and the Airport that wasn't necessary to hire a cab to get around from (was staying at the beach places on the bay), and found the Ohana apts across from The Bounty resturarent bout halfway between Nadi and the AP.on the Queen's HWY. Next door to The pleasant Skytop bar.

Easy transportation access for both buses and taxis.

Ask for Phono, he seems to be the manager, and is a friendly person.

It is one of the few facilities that, as I understand it, are 100% owned by natives Fijians.

It costs a little more than the other dumps that pass for "inexpensive" lodgings in Nadi but is a very much superior value. Has full kitchens, DVD players, fridge and is quiet and secure.

Paid $75FD and was well worth it.

Recommended.

Interesting that the OP and the one respondent haver both posted no other items in TT and yet their only post is in effect an advertisement..

I dont know anything about the Ohana, but would be very wary of staying there purely on the OPs say so

I don't know what an OP is (Original Post?) and will easily allow that my post looks like an advert.

The reply certainly is.
It is hardly my first post, but for a hiccup in the system dumped me out, I don't know why.

It is an advert only in the sense that it is, from my ten days in Fiji, and visiting six or eight or more hotels, a superior place to stay for a bit more cash.

So no, in fact my report is from a traveller from the states who was pretty discouraged from the value of hotels in Nadi, and had my camera with a months worth of pix stolen from the Horizon trash packer place for $28 /bunk/ nite.

Then I looked at a place (forget the name, Constallation? advertizing welcome backpakers) for 55FD and it was close to a dump. I take it back IT WAS A DUMP .The door handle was close to coming off, and after my 500 USD camera rip off at the Horizon, that was unimpressive.

Looked at the Melanesia (sp) and was better but, IIRC 65 and no prize.

So the Ohana was where I landed at 75 FD. Compared to the others they should have been priced at 25 FD, the hell hole Horizon is just best avoided.

It is new and seems to be trying to get in the stream of things for travelers.

I fully understand your comments, and they apply to the responder, but my recommendation is real and unsolicited.

It is from what I have seen, the best value in Nadi if you desire some comfort and security.

That's what I saw. I sure do understand your thoughts. Shills are everywhere.

Thomas.
