| iamneilclayton04:35 UTC18 Feb 2011 | Hi, My wife and I have been offered employment as Dive Centre managers for Waidroka Bay Resort in Nadi, Fiji. We have never been to Fiji and are unsure what to expect, so we are looking for a bit of travellers feedback, both on the island and ideally about Waidroka Bay. We are used to living on an island, as we have been running a dive centre in Koh Lipe, Thailand for two years. We are unsure if we should accept the job however, partly since the money is not that great and its a big commitment to travel all the way there and then not like it. Can anyone advise both on the island itself, working there, living costs, and also on the diving conditions?
Many thanks Neil

Also, Waidroka Bay Resort is not at Nadi, it is a couple of hours SE (by bus) on the Coral Coast, but a bit remote from a decent size town. I can't compare living in Fiji with living in Thailand, but Fiji is a third world country, costs are relatively low, but some things that you may be used to are harder to get. Will you be accomodated in the resort? We have been living in Lautoka (just north of Nadi) for 7 months, and we are loving it..... :-)
Cheers, Peter
