Amazing Uprising Beach Resort

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

I cant believe how much the Uprising must have impressed righteousbabe. I am the “friend” she was talking about in her first very personal and mean post. I have also lived and studied in Suva and actually found my second home and family in Pacific Harbour at the Uprising.
The point is that I was there when she spent her “horrible” night at the resort and I could tell you the whole story – the real one but people already argued so much about the incident that I have to say: Actions speak louder than words – go there, enjoy the beach, the great service, very reasonable prices, delicious food and the most important thing – fantastic people.

I spent so much time there, made new friends and was so sad to leave the place after having such a pompous time! I loved to go out on the jet ski, horse riding was amazing and the Big Shot ride is memorised forever. We went to beautiful Yanuca Island and saw dolphins on our way back… what can I say more than THANK YOU so much for your extraordinary hospitality and this unique experience.
If you are ever talking about lack of professionalism, don’t let people find out about your lack of truth.

To my friends and family in Fiji – the whole Pac Harbour gang:
When you forgive, you in no way change the past - but you sure do change the future.

Love and miss you all – especially my captain ; )
Hope to see you again soon!

It sure looks like this branch will become nothing more than first time posters writing about the Uprising resort (all in the same long winded style). (Scary place, huh?)

Does anyone want to start a pool on how many more we'll get?

Here's the list so far:

This may go on for some time so I wouldn't want to take any bets. But I don't think they're bright enough to realise that they're making this resort notorious. And the thing is they all seem to be locals - I don't think I've picked an overseas tourist amongst any of them.

2

silvanocat. I wonder what Hydroponic meant about having a 'pompous' time? Do you think something has got lost in translation or did he/she misread her lines?

3

Heh, I saw that. I think something got lost in the translation.

4

I'm thinking of starting a petition to Thorn Tree - banning any further mention of Uprising - that should fix them!

5

Yes, we could do that on the basis that advertising is not allowed (which it isn't).

6

It happens that I know a family who are just spending their last day at this resort. I will meet this family (who does not know of all this postings here) in a couple of weeks again. I will for sure "interview" them in detail.

7

#7 a good idea.

I think the people behind this particular game are seriously overestimated the range and influence of the LP bulletin board. It would be nice if they settled their differences in private.

This is a travel forum to share experiences but to me it seems to be more like a post & reply chat for people who are really bored. Yes, it was my first blog but whats the problem about it?? If you only believe people who posted several times even it is absolutely not true what they say - ok, then this was the first (second) and last time you hear from me. I wanted to tell users of this forum what i experienced and that i know a lot of people who love the uprising as well - even lecturers from USP who go there on the weekend with their kids.

Anyway, believe what you want but it would be fair to go there and get your own picture of the place.
Call it lost in translation or whatever - when i read the replies to my post i know this is the wrong place to talk about truth anyway.

Wow!! Do you guys realize how MANY hotmail and yahoo mail accounts this person must have? I'm surmising this because LP will not set you up in a new account with the same email that you used for a previous account. I am waiting for usernames of "johannapurple" or "janetblack".

Someone is very determined. Alsmost as many handles as copperspoon.

Again, wow!!

10

"Alsmost(sic) as many handles as copperspoon"

I have NFI what you're talking about-I post here under no other handles.

May I suggest you have your caretakers check your Meds/dosage.

We didn't start this thread Pacboy.

You should have listened to my advice in post #21 here.

12

#14 And still you advertise your resort?

Don't you think it's about time we got him banned for advertising??

And the pathetic little guy wonders if any of us have been to Fiji.

Or what? Are the Uprising goons gonna threaten to have me beat up like righteousbabe?

You felt free to post another advertisement about your resort and you want others to stop posting?

You could/should have stopped after the last thread but you didn't.

Though you are too arrogant and stupid to listen I will give you good advice again. Every resort is going to get a bad review sometime. It's how you handle it that really makes the difference.
And the Uprising responds to criticism not by correcting mistakes but by threats and intimidation. You had the original post deleted, all the one post wonders showed up and you now command "no more talking about Uprising especially if its gonna be negative talk". Well, screw you, buddy.

14

Being able to read people's experiences of the place let us make our own mind up over whether we want to visit it. I am still thinking of looking more into this resort, but the thought that it's staff members may be pushing it dishonestly (or inappropriately) or becoming threatening over a negative comment hardly instill enthusiasm in me.

As a #16 said, resorts are going to get the odd bad review, you can never please or appeal to everyone.

15

No one has ever called me a geek before LOL.

agingaquarian, its been a pleasure!

16

I wouldn't stay at the Uprising for this sole reason:

IT'S TOO DAMN EXPENSIVE AND I'M NOT SLEEPING IN A DORM!!!

17

#19 well, I'm one up on you silvanocat. I'm both a bitch and a geek. LOL

Hopefully this will now be the end of pacboy's advertising campaign which seriously backfired. He's now revealed his own character and the fact that he appears to be an absentee owner.
