Anyone know Victoria Palms Hotel in Suva?Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji
I'm doing a mini-vacation in Suva enroute to Melbourne and some other AU points, from California. Some of the less expensive Suva hotels had terrible reviews...bedbugs, smelly carpets and other things, noise till late...I booked a reservation at the Victoria Palms Hotel. It looked ok, esp for the money. Anyone know it?
does your flight land in Suva or Nadi, there are some interesting things in Suva, the Museum, the saturday markets, you can eat the food thats sold there if you want to sample some local food, Colo-I- Suva eco park, and the walk around the waterfront near Lacaula Bay. If you had time there is a good trip up the Navua River visiting villages and waterfalls, you can get a bus there cheaply. Taxis are a cheap way to get around the city, but where you are staying is walkable to most things. | 1
Potentially I have a day, or a good part of a day, in Nadi on my way out. Thanks! | 2
flight arrives and departs from Nadi, but all in all Suva looked more interesting, a real city in the South Pacific...so I chose to spend the bulk of my time there. | 3
get the bus from the airport across to Suva by Queens road , they leave from near the Domestic, really cheap (not the little express buses) sit on the drivers side of the bus for the best views, and a taxi in Suva to your hotel, just make sure they put the meter on. if you had time on your way out you could get the bus around the Kings Road, and see lots of different Fiji | 4
If you could clarify a little about "not the little express buses". Do those leave from the same place? How to I tell the difference? Thanks again! | 5
