ATM at Nadi Airport

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

Does anyone have experience with the ATM at the Nadi airport? I'm arriving on the 5:15am from L.A. and heading out to the Yasawas before anything opens, so I'm praying that I can withdraw enough money from the airport ATM. Does it have a limit on the amount that can be withdrawn at one time? (I would want maybe $1000 FJD -- I'm not worried about my own bank limit). Does it work reliably (nothing like finding an out-of-service ATM!) I have a typical Canadian bank debit card (not visa) with the Plus symbol on the back. Has anyone else had success with this?

Thanks!

When we used it in October there was a maximum of $200 withdrawal at any one time - but a daily limit of $1,000 - so you just have to stand there & repeat...... But there is a bank branch which is open to meet all flights - at least has been open every time we have arrived.
Where are you staying in the Yasawas? You are unlikely to be spending a lot of cash out there, unless going to somewhere really remote, usually you can charge to a credit card.

In addition to those 'instant cash' amounts of up to $200 there usually is an option 'More Services' or something like that. Pressing that button will lead you to a new menu with one item being 'Cash Withdrawl'. Choose that and then you can type in the amount you want and $1000 should be no problem.

We used a CDN bank debit card(BOM) two years ago with no problems.

Thanks all. I got the impression from the guidebooks and websites that most budget places in the Yasawas don't take credit cards, with the exception of the really popoular ones like Octopus and Oarsman's. Are more of them starting to accept credit cards?
