Avoid Leluvia island resort

Just a quick warning to any travellers thinking of staying on the Island resort of Leluvia, between Viti Levu and Ovalau. Although the island itself is lovely, the bures are small and a bit haphazard and the restrooms aren't great (cold salty showers).
On a much more serious note however there is a group of about 11 male staff working there, who try most nights to get the guests very drunk and then take advantage of them. I had $70 stolen and when I went back to our accommodation at 4am an hour after my girlfriend, she was paralytically drunk and there was a male staff member in our bed trying to rape her.
I chased him off but being drunk and it dark, did not get a good look at his face.

Did ou or your girlfriend report this to the police, or perhaps the Women's Crisis Centre in Suva?

And ask to speak to a manager or elders on the island

both of those suggestions are correct. The elders will not put up with that. It is a small island and everyone knows everyone.
