| oicoxey18:27 UTC20 Jun 2012 | So we arrive in Fiji in July for three weeks and we're keen to dive the best sites on offer.... we are also hoping to enjoy a sailing experience in the islands. Everything we can find on the web is way beyond our backpacker's budget. Does anyone out there know of any contacts or operators who could help us get on the ocean for a few days without resorting to ferries? With or without diving opportunities??

You need a return airfare for these islands(about $300 each) or a lot of time to reach them by boat. There is good diving off some of the Yasawa Islands- but again the cost of getting to them may not be within your budget. On the north shore of Viti Levu- the main island where international flight's land in Nadi- is the Volivoli Resort which offers good scuba diving with Ra Divers. You can reach them by a 2-3 hour public bus from Nadi via Lautoka. www.volivoli.com
