Bula !!

Does anybody have any info regarding barefoot island lodge. I know the burees are very basic and it is share facilities. But what is Drawaqa island like and the beach/es, the food that is served. Is it in general a good spot.
Stayed at Nanuya island resort around xmas and it was fab. I presume Barefoot is a lot more basic but is it a worthwhile experience??Any help would be appreciated going for 2 weeks in july!!!!Cant't wait. LOVE FIJI.

Thanks heaps

Drawaqa Island is a very small but very beautiful island... I stayed there in the Barefoot lodge last September and it was definately on of the highlights of my RTW trip.

The Burees are basic and rustic but it only adds to the tranquility of this place.... They are right on the beach and are actually quite spacious too... There is no electricty in the burees...Only in the main buree where everyone meets for lunch and dinner.... I found that great because it only adds to the remote and peaceful atmosphere at nighttime !!

The snorkelling is great but dont stick to the reefs in by the shore...Take a swim out to the deeper waters....About 7 - 10 metres and you will see a huge array of corals and marine life.... There is also an area off the point of the island where Manta Rays are regularly seen.

The food we got there was absolutely amazing...Barracuda, Spanish Makerel, chicken, BBQ....It was fantastic....Dont worry about it at all !!.....After dinner in the evening you will get to sit with the locals and sing and drink kava with them....Its really up close and personal..

I could go on and on about this place but my fingers will get sore from typing....It was defo one of the nicest and most memorable places I have been to !!

Check out my website and you will see some pics and my travel stories !!
