beachcomber island

I've read that the Beachcomber has been closed due to a fire in April. Their website doesn't indicate when they will be re-opening. Some other websites report 31st Oct and some agents are taking bookings for mid-Aug. Does anyone have any confirmed dates? Additionally, do you know of any party places in Fiji in lieu of Beachcomber?

According to their Facebook page, they are re-opening on the 1st August... They are redirecting their guests to Anchorage Beach Resort (their sister resort), so I assume the party crowd will be heading there for now... Bounty Island is also a party island, however they are closed until end of December.... They are pretty much the only real party islands... If you are planning on heading to Beachcomber after August, maybe email them to confirm when they are re-opening... They are currently open/trading so someone will reply to email/phone, however they are only open for day trips whilst they rebuild.. For what it's worth, I was there in January & it really wasn't great... Food was average (at best) and our bure had bedbugs!... water was crystal clear tho (like all islands)... crowd was young (18-early 20's) mostly loud, drunk females... Wherever you decide to stay, enjoy your time in Fiji!
