Best things to do in Fiji/Rivers Fiji or Sigatoka River SafariCountry forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji
Hi all My family and I are traveling to Fiji in the Christmas holidays and are trying to figure out what to do during our stay. We are in the Coral Coast Area. Could someone please tell us what the most enjoyable, adventurous and exciting things things there are to do in Fiji. Also we have looked at rivers Fiji and Sigatoka river safari and we can't decide which one looks better, if you could tell us which one is a better experience it would be most appreciated Thanks
there is a great trip up the Navua river to a village and waterfall which is very nice, waterfalls along the way and a beautiful one at the end, also another Navua river rafting experience | 1
Thanks. Anything Else? | 2
I agree with jbinternational... I've done the navua river safari & it was lots of fun. Our tour included the river safari down navua river, village visit (included a lovo lunch), waterfall visit (including time for a swim) & bilibili rafting, pretty much an all day event... You can also swim with/feed the sharks on Beqa Island... Go charter fishing.... Visit a local school (although not very adventurous, but definitely an experience)... We also went sand boarding (on boogie boards) down the Sigatoka Sand Dunes. This is something we did on our own and just happen to stumbled across, so unfortunately I have no idea how to get there again but it was awesome... If you're interested, maybe ask the locals when you arrive... All I know is that it was just after where the Sigatoka Sand Dunes National Park ends (so it is a public area). To get there you need to drive down a bunch of dirt roads (so you will need a car/taxi). We parked at a locals house who had a sign out the front advertising surfing lessons at Natadola Beach (which is just on the other side of the sand dunes), we hired the boogie boards here. This house was across the road (dirt road/off road) from a B&B type accommodation place... Wow that's really vague.. Sorry!! Maybe a local will know the area well enough to give better directions or offer other suggestions... If you can find it or find a guide/tour of some sort I definitely suggest doing it, lots of fun!! (However we went when it was windy so the sand got really blowy at the top of the sand dune) | 3
My 12 year old grand daughter and I had a great day----had a Sigatoka markets tour with a local then went to Kula eco park in the morning and did the Sigatoka Cave Safari in the afternoon. I remember someone else on this forum describing a horse riding trip in to a waterfall and swimming in the pool underneath. There will be plenty to do especially if the rain holds off. | 4
vfernandez00 that's okay don't worry about it. You really helped. Is the company called rivers Fiji? Is the river rafting or kayaking activities suitable for children? | 5
We booked thru www.discoverfijitours.com/jewel_fiji.html (we did Tour 4)... If you hit the 'Tours' tab they have other tour options as well :) | 6
Sorry - Yes suitable for children... May be tricky if child is under toddler age though | 7
Sorry for all the questions... Could a woman over 50 participate? | 8
Sure can, there was a married couple on the tour celebrating the husbands 80th! :) they had a few issues getting in & out of the canoe as it was a bit tricky being on the water & all, but they managed ok with the help of staff | 9
