Buca Bay to Savusavu

Just a quick one. Anyone know when the buses leave Buca Bay on weekdays for Savusavu?

I wouldn't want to say that I "know" anything about the timings of Fijian transport. My strategy has been to ask around a day or two before I wanted to get anywhere.

Apparently, you are already in the area. Why not ask someone where you're staying? Sometimes you can hitch a lift with someone heading to town.

In my own limited experience, buses from Buca Bay to Savusavu were coordinated with the ferry arrival times from Taveuni, to pick up the ferry passengers. I can't recall exactly when the ferries arrived (I was on Fiji time) but some time past 10:30 am.

I recall there being a long-route bus connection between Savusavu and Labasa, but this might not be a different route, just the Labasa bus waiting at Buca Bay for the ferry.

Thanks for your help. In the end we missed the 11 o'clock one as it left early (!) and had to wait around for five hours for the next one.

We asked the locals – that's what got us into problems ;)

My advice for anyone in the future make sure you get there at LEAST half hour early :)

:-) well, sorry you missed the bus. Now you understand why I didn't want to claim knowledge about timetables.

Perhaps I should have mentioned that I usually take a poll when asking about transport times. And, indeed, I also usually do precisely what you advise!
