budget accommodation in downtown Nadi

Hi,
I looked through the last two editions of LP Fiji guidebook, but they don't list any accommodation in downtown Nadi at all. I know a few hotel names from the older sources: Sunseekers Hotel, Nadi Hotel (not Nadi Bay Hotel !), Budget Travellers Backpackers Inn, Nadi Downtown Backpackers, Hotel San Bruno.
Do these hotels still exist?
Does anybody know these places and their prices?

The only place that springs to mind that is in the main street of Nadi , is Nadi DownTown Hotel & Backpackers. It certainly does exist and can be booked here - > http://www.cheaperthanhotels.com.au/Fiji/Nadi/Nadi-Downtown-Backpackers-Inn/

Is the LP Fiji guide really THAT bad?
I found Nadi Downtown Backpackers the cheapest accommodation in all of Fiji, perfectly central and perfectly acceptable except perhaps for the noise from the bar next door.
When I was there it did offer dorms which the above booking site dsoesn't list - hopefully only because there is not enough commission to be made on booking those! ;-)

Incidentally, this place in Lautoka could be a suitable alternative to Nadi for most purposes, including a brief stay in transit (as the airport is between Nadi and Lautoka, passed by buses to either town).

I had a look at that link but I couldn't find it on google maps and I couldnt tell if they have trabsfers from the airport. Do you know if it is easy to get to by bus from the airport? Ill be there in August and I fly in after 3pm.

That place certainly doesn't normally offer transfers, but is very easy to get to by public bus.
Just catch any bus bound for Nadi on the main road right in front of the airport, then it will be a few minutes' walk from the buses terminus in Nadi.

Just posting to confirm that the Downtown Hotel/Motel/Backpackers still exists, and offers dorm beds for $13 (Fijian).
It has its shortcomings, but the rates are the cheapest in all Fiji and the central location is unique in Nadi.
