Business Traveler to Nadi + Suva - Hotel Recommends

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

Quick question for a business traveler going to Nadi and Suva in November.

Am interested in good hotel options - my hotel budget is around $200 per night and I like to be near enough to local restaurants, cafes and things to do in the evening. However, I guess in Fiji, I would also like to be on the coast or have the nice scenery to enjoy as well, swim in the pool, etc.

I am doing work in the day in downtown Suva and downtown Nadi so easy access to both is important with hotel selections.

Any advice anybody has would be appreicated.

Many thanks

With $200 to spend and being there for business, Id suggest checking out whats available at Denerau Island - about 10mins by cab from Nadi. The island has a number of flash hotels.Plus at the Port main building there is a shopping centre with a number of nice cafes/restaurants etc

Looking at www.wotif.com just now and they have Golf Terrace Apartments (1 BR) for $150 per night , and also Radisson Resort for $225.

The advantage in staying at Denerau, is also that there is a number of excellent sporting facilities and each of the flash hotels have activities at night.

Thanks for the reply - that is exactly what I did. Grabbed a room at the Westin on Denerau Island.

Thanks for the reply.

the holiday inn is probably the nicest of the options in suva, and should be within $200 per night. nice and central to town, good facilities, and a pretty outdoor area for food and drinks

cheers

Booked the Holiday Inn for Suva.

Thanks for the reply.

I see you booked at the holiday Inn. I'm in Suva now and staying at the 5 Princes Hotel, which is great. You can get a small cottage for about FJD200. It has a pool, privacy, and a wonderful family that runs it. It is a bit out of town, but taxis in Suva are easy to find and cheap. I would much prefer it over the Holiday Inn. I also stayed at the Golf Terrace - they're perfectly nice, clean, and near the small shopping/restaurant area. For amore upscale option, the Westin and Sofitel are the best. They are on the beach.

Enjoy.

In Suva the homestay is above the center of town on a ridge and has great views over the bay from the little pool terrace. Easy and fast to reach by taxi (or local bus if you wish).

Raintree Lodge is further out, maybe 20min by bus from station in downtown, great lake and resto plus nice bungalows (and dorms).
