Cafe/resturants & supermarket near Outrigger on the Lagoon???

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

Hi,
Does anyone know of Good reasonable cafe, restaurant near Outrigger on the lagoon?
We have breakfast but Don't have all meals included and want to eat out of resort.
Would love to hear your recommendations.
Also anyone know of the closest supermarket?
Thanks

How bout a lat-lon marker, city, country or location? Where are you?

Closest supermarket will be Sigatoka, I reckon....
Every resort will have somewhere to eat and they are 'wall to wall'.

Cheers,
Peter

It's on the Coral Coast near Sigatoka.
In general, resorts in Fiji (or 5* resorts anywhere?) aren't set up for self caterers... they're mostly out of town with not much within walking distance. I see this question a lot though, I guess people are just naively optimistic that they can stay in a nice resort but eat cheap elsewhere?

Anywho, you can see on Google maps that there's a few budget accommodation options near Outrigger. They might have walk in cafes, but bear in mind that a lot also just provide meals for their guests, booked in advance. Certainly for a supermarket you'll need to get a taxi / bus to Sigatoka (5 minutes according to their website).

RE: my post #1....

Didn't the old forum format show the country in the breadcrumb line at the top of the page. Like
"Thorn Tree travel forum ⁄ Departure Lounge ⁄ Australasia & Pacific - Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea/Fiji?

Now it just shows the comment subject as "Thorn Tree travel forum ⁄ Departure Lounge ⁄ Australasia & Pacific - Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea" with no country.

???? or am I imagining things?

Outrigger on the Lagoon is situated on a hill. At the bottom of that hill on the sea front, there are a a couple of little cafes where you could get a simple but decent meal. All within walking distance.

there is a place called Kokos bar and a pizza shop close to the outrigger, on a side road that follows the shore line toward Sigatoka, you might need to get a taxi, Kokos has good food, I've stopped at the outrigger to get food from the snack bar and left without buying
