I already answered the same question. You can camp for instance at Caqelai, or at Beverly's at Matei, Taveuni. A very nice place was Mumu's near Savu Savu.

Camping possibilities are usually restricted to some backpacker resorts, from what I observed. The cost of setting up your own tent was hardly less than a dorm bed. The savings might not be worth the bother, although you'll have some privacy.

Make sure your tent can handle a tropical downpour. The camping at Beverly's on Taveuni, for example, has tarpaulins hung up between trees and you set up your tent UNDER them as added rain protection.

There are lots of budget/backpacker resorts that offer camping, the ones I know that has camping are Oarsmans Bay Resort in the Yasawas, Beachouse on the Coral Coast, Rain Tree Lodge in Suva.

I have below some useful website that you can read through, they have more details on camping in Fiji
1. Bula Fiji Tourism - www.bulafiji.com
2. Rob Kayes - www.fijiguide.com.
3. Fiji Hotel Directory - www.fiji-hotels.com.fj

I'm sure the above sites will assist you out. Let me know how you go.

We camped in the Yasawas on and Taveuni in '95 at backpacker places. Adding a small tent to your backpack gives you the option to tent. Doesn't mean you have to. Sometimes affordable lodging was full so we did tent some to keep costs down. Suggest a tent that is partially built of fine mesh mosquito netting vs. solid material----cooler at night and can see stars. I would say don't bring the rain fly if it has one due to extra weight UNLESS you expect to camp most nights (since lots of camping increases the odds of being rained on.) And don't bother bringing tent stakes. That's more weight. (Just my 2 cents.)
