Camping in Fiji

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

I'll be in Fiji for 2 weeks in May and I'm wondering if there are any places to go camping along the shore. We just want to relax on a nice beach, enjoy the water and the nature. Can anyone recommend any places where there are camping spots? We haven't been able to find much info about camping on Fiji so any recommendations would be grand. Thanks, K.

There were campers at one of the places I stayed in the Yasawas - nice beach, clear water, white sand, nature, relaxing place. The campers pitched their tent at the edge of the property, bought the meal plan and used all the facilities - the dorm showers, kayaks, snorkel gear. You could email backpacker places near where you want to visit and ask. It's not back woods camping, but it's an option.

Yes, you can camp for instance at Caqelai Island. A very nice place was Mumu's near Savu Savu. Also the Beverly's camping at Matei, Taveuni.
