Can it rain all day every day during wet season?

Country forums / Pacific Islands & Papua New Guinea / Fiji

Can anyone who knows, tell me the answer to this, we are planning to be in Fiji either jan-feb 2008 or Mar-Apr. Which will be drier? Are mossies a problem that time of year? I have had rainy season experience in other countries by choice, and am actually looking for sun and sand, in Fiji. I just cannot go at any other time of the year.
Thank you for your wisdom.

Years past Mar-April these days all bets are off.

"Are mossies a problem that time of year?"
Some places in the evening.

No-brief intense morning downfalls followed by sunny periods then rain at night is standard.

The Yasawas are your best bet but this past February the dry side was often inundated, will this happen 2 years in a row?

Bula,

This last year January-early Feb. where much drier, mossies depends on the places. Best is to get to the Yasawa islands (Octopus and Manta Ray and very nice) they are the desert of Fiji and if its raining in the Yaswa's it's flooding everywhere else..

End of April might be marginally a bit better, but it is still the rainy season. Jan/Feb is probably a little more humid than April. But you will probably get rain a few days a week (or more), in the style Cardamom describes.
