Cheapest booking location flightticket New Zealand to Fiji

Hello fellow-travellers!!

October 5th 2012 I'm heading for a 6 month travel trough South-East Asia and New Zeeland. Since I'm in the neighbourhood of Fiji, I like to end my trip with 2 weeks over there ;-).

I've already booked my flight to Bangkok (via Taipei and Brisbane) to Auckland. I've read about booking in Bangkok is the cheapest, but don't know quite how to handle it. Or maybe it's cheaper to book in New Zealand because it's much closer to Fiji?

My ideal is from Christchurch to Nadi back to Auckland. And from there heading home with my already booked flight.

Someone who can speak from experience maybe??

It will be less expensive flying from New Zealand to Fiji. To get an idea, go to Kayak.com Most of the
savings by booking through a Thai travel agency are when you travel within Asia on the routes they are
most familiar with- Fiji is not one of the routes they commonly book.
